The Maharajganj police have arrested Ramawatar Prajapati and Pramod Paswan, the owner and contractor respectively, of a marriage hall where the roof collapsed, causing the deaths of three laborers and injuring five others. The owner and contractor have been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The incident occurred when cracks developed in one of the pillars supporting the 10,000 square-foot roof, leading to its collapse. The deceased have been identified as Yash Kumar, Neeraj Chauhan, and Ramshankar, all aged 25. The circle officer, Anirudh Kumar, stated that the contractor’s brother, Santosh Paswan, has also been booked. Sudama, the father of Ramashankar, who lost his life in the incident, filed the complaint that led to the FIR. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the pillar’s cracks and the subsequent collapse of the roof.
