A 47-year-old scooterist was killed and his 23-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run mishap on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) in Andheri on Monday. The victim, Suresh Gupta, ran a grocery store and lived in Malad with his wife and children. The incident took place around 1pm when a vehicle overtook Suresh and brushed his scooter, causing him and his daughter to fall off. Suresh got dragged by the vehicle and lost consciousness, while his daughter sustained injuries to her left arm. They were both taken to the hospital, where Suresh was pronounced dead on admission. The police have registered a case of negligence against the unidentified driver.
