Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is proving to be a box office success. Despite facing stiff competition from Prabhas’ Salaar, the film has managed to maintain a strong hold at the box office. According to Sacnilk, Dunki had a 30% occupancy rate on its second Monday. The footfalls gradually increased throughout the day, and early estimates suggest that the film is set to earn 9.25 crore, bringing its total box office collections to Rs 196.97 crore.
Shah Rukh Khan’s film Dunki has faced tough competition from the much-anticipated release Salaar. Both films were vying for audience attention and box office dominance. However, despite the clash, Dunki has managed to stand tall. The film tells the story of friendships, borders, nostalgia for home, and love. It is Shah Rukh Khan’s third and final release of 2023, following the success of the action blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan.
Dunki, a comedy drama, is based on the concept of ‘donkey flight,’ an illegal immigration technique. The film is written by Rajkumar Hirani, Abhijaat Joshi, and Kanika Dhillon.
Shah Rukh Khan’s success in 2023 continues with Dunki, as he becomes the first Indian actor to earn Rs 2500 crore in a year. Joining the ranks of Pathaan and Jawan, Dunki’s box office success further cements Shah Rukh Khan’s position in the industry.
