After the successful releases of ‘Pathaan’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Dunki’ this year, reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan will be seen next in Sujoy Ghosh’s action thriller. According to sources, the film will see SRK sharing screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan, who recently made her debut in ‘The Archies’. Initially titled ‘King’, the film went through a title change as Sajid Nadiadwala had acquired the rights to the title. However, he graciously gave it to SRK after just one call from the actor.
As per Bollywood Hungama, Sajid had plans to make a film called ‘King’ with Hrithik Roshan in the lead back in 2017. The title had sentimental value to the producer, and he intended to use it for his film with Hrithik, which was to be directed by Kabir Khan. However, the project did not materialize at that time. Now, Sajid has given the title to Shah Rukh Khan without charging anything, believing that nobody can justify the title ‘King’ better than SRK. The transfer of the title to SRK’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment happened within a week.
Shah Rukh Khan has not revealed specific details about the film ‘King’. In an interview with a news portal in Dubai, he mentioned that shooting for his next film will commence in March or April 2024. He disclosed that the film will present him in an age-appropriate role and will feature a lot of sleek action, different from his previous works. The movie will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh and co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Entertainment.
