BHEL to Set Up 2,400 MW Thermal Power Plant in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced its plans to set up a greenfield thermal power plant with a capacity of 2,400 MW in the Jharsuguda district of Odisha. The EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contract for the project has been awarded to BHEL by NLC India Limited. The plant, which will have a capacity of 3×800 MW in stage I, will be established as part of an effort to meet the increasing demand for power in the region. This project is expected to contribute significantly to the development of the power sector in Odisha and create employment opportunities in the state.
