Nitish Kumar aims to exceed target of creating 10 lakh government jobs in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced his government’s determination to not just achieve, but surpass the target of creating 10 lakh government jobs in the state. Speaking at a function held for the distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited teachers, Kumar mentioned that his government has already provided jobs to 3.63 lakh people in Bihar. He declared that the government is working towards creating even more employment opportunities for the state’s youth and converting 3.68 lakh contractual teachers into government employees.

Kumar expressed confidence in achieving the target of 10 lakh government jobs, stating that the government is not only focused on reaching the goal but exceeding it. He assured the audience that the state government is actively working towards this objective.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the creation of five lakh employment opportunities for the youth of Bihar. He mentioned that around 2 lakh newly recruited teachers have already been appointed in the last 70 days alone. Kumar emphasized that majority of these teachers are from Bihar, with the remaining from states like Rajasthan, Haryana, West Bengal, Kerala, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chandigarh. He added that people from Bihar also secure jobs in other states, indicating the widespread impact of the government’s efforts.

Furthermore, Kumar acknowledged the Bihar Public Service Commission for successfully conducting the teacher recruitment process. He credited the commission for their commendable job in ensuring a smooth selection process.

The creation of jobs and employment opportunities has been a core focus of the Bihar government, especially after the formation of the Grand Alliance in August 2022. Kumar had previously announced the target of generating 10 lakh government jobs along with an additional 10 lakh employment opportunities in various sectors.
