The Dakshina Kannada district police have refuted claims circulating on social media about an inter-faith couple being assaulted in Dharmasthala. In a press note, the police clarified that a group of autorickshaw drivers had informed them about the presence of an inter-faith couple in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found that the couple were adults and there was no attack on them. The couple was then safely transported to their respective destinations. The police also warned the public against spreading false information and assured that strict action would be taken against those involved in moral policing.
