KSRTC Recruits 264 Technical Assistants After 8 Years

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has finally recruited 264 new candidates for the post of Technical Assistant after nearly eight years. The recruitment process had been withheld for the past eight years, but on October 13, 2023, the government gave permission to recruit 300 candidates. Candidates who had secured 30 or more marks in the CAT examination were considered eligible for the selection process.

The selection process was carried out through a merit-cum-roaster basis, and the KSRTC prepared a final list of 264 deserving candidates out of the 554 applicants. In a first-time move, candidates were given the opportunity to select depots through computerized counseling, ensuring a transparent posting process. The entire hiring process was completed in just three months, a significant improvement from the previous delays.

The training period, which was initially set for two years during the notification, has been reduced to one year. Furthermore, the monthly stipend for training, which was initially fixed at ₹9,100, has now been increased to ₹14,000. This move will provide the newly recruited Technical Assistants with better financial support during their training period.

Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy distributed the appointment letters to the successful candidates at the KSRTC head office in Shantinagar. This recruitment marks a positive development for the KSRTC, as it aims to improve its technical staff capacity and enhance the overall efficiency of the corporation.
