The Federation of Government Doctors Associations (FOGDA) has written a letter to the Health Secretary, urging the Health department to increase the allowance for medical officers in Primary Health Centres (PHC) from ₹2,100 to ₹5,000 per month. The federation highlighted that medical officers in PHCs have been receiving the same allowance since 2011, despite their crucial role in providing healthcare services in rural areas and during calamities such as floods, cyclones, and disease outbreaks. The increase in allowance would recognize their dedication and contribution to the healthcare sector.
