A senior citizen, Abdul Samad, 80, collapsed and died at home after unfurling the tricolour during a Republic Day celebration in Mangaluru. Samad, a retired government officer, was the chief guest at the event organized by an apartment association in Bejai New Road. After unfurling the flag and delivering a speech, he entered his house and collapsed. His body was taken to his native place in Kundapur. The cause of his collapse and death is yet to be determined.
