Hero MotoCorp-owned Surge has unveiled the S32 EV, an electric vehicle that seamlessly transforms from a three-wheeled rickshaw to an electric scooter. Similar to the concept seen in the Batmobile from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, the Surge S32 EV is designed to operate as an electric rickshaw for commercial purposes and can be detached and used as a high-performance electric scooter. Its modular design allows for a quick and effortless transition between the two forms, offering a spacious and practical rickshaw for carrying passengers or cargo, and a sleek and stylish electric scooter for personal use. The cabin of the vehicle features a windscreen, lighting, and optional weather-protective soft doors, seamlessly concealing the compact scooter. Equipped with LED headlights, indicators, and digital instrumentation, the detachable scooter connects to the powertrain and battery of the rickshaw through a manual electric interface. The three-wheeler configuration is capable of carrying a substantial load of up to 500 kg, making it suitable for various commercial applications. On the other hand, the two-wheeler variant delivers a quicker top speed and offers a dynamic and agile ride experience. The three-wheeler version is powered by an 11 kWh battery, while the scooter variant has a 3.5 kWh battery. The three-wheeler can reach speeds of up to 50 km/h, while the scooter can go faster at 60 km/h.
