The BJP on Saturday slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, labeling him as the ‘crownless king of corruption’ who is always on the run. This came after a dramatic incident at Kejriwal’s residence when a crime branch team arrived to serve him a notice. The notice was related to Kejriwal’s claim that the BJP was attempting to poach AAP MLAs. The Delhi police team insisted on delivering the notice to Kejriwal himself, while his residence officials were willing to accept the notice on his behalf.

Reacting strongly, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla referred to Kejriwal as a ‘bhagoda’ (fugitive). Poonawalla argued that Kejriwal had previously evaded the Enforcement Directorate’s summons in connection with an alleged liquor scam. He accused Kejriwal of refusing to cooperate with the probe agency’s investigation.

Poonawalla further criticized Kejriwal for evading the notice from the Delhi Police crime branch as well. He described Kejriwal as a ‘betaaj badshah’ (crownless king) of corruption who consistently avoids law enforcement and probe agencies. Poonawalla stated that people in Delhi are now calling out ‘Bhag Kejriwal Bhag’ (run Kejriwal run).

The BJP leader also alleged that there isn’t a single department in the Aam Aadmi Party government where Kejriwal and his associates haven’t cheated or committed any wrongdoings, be it in excise policy, medicine, education, or even the chief minister’s official residence, referred to as his ‘sheesh mahal’. Poonawalla claimed that Kejriwal has no regard for the Constitution and considers himself above the law, order, and probe agencies. Hence, he is dubbed as ‘nizam-e-Kejriwal’ and always on the run.
