The Waltair Division in India has witnessed a significant increase in iron ore loading during the current financial year. In the period from April 2023 to January 2024, the division recorded an average of 14 rakes per day, compared to 11 rakes per day in the previous year. This has led to a total iron ore loading of 18.34 million tons, showing a substantial growth rate of 25.36%. The division also achieved a record-breaking loading rate of 63.6 rakes per day in January 2024, surpassing the previous best of 62.4 rakes per day achieved in March 2023. The success can be attributed to improved coordination with customers such as the National Mineral Development Corporation, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam, JSW Steel, and Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited, along with the joint efforts of all operations and maintenance wings of the Waltair Division.
