Krishna district Collector P. Raja Babu has instructed the Women Development and Child Welfare Project Director to submit a report on the death of a minor boy who was an inmate of a child care home. The boy, along with two other inmates, ran away from the care home and met with a hit and run accident on the National Highway. He was taken to the government hospital in Vijayawada where he later died. The Collector has ordered an inquiry into the incident, and action will be taken based on the inquiry report. Additionally, the AP State Commission for Protection of Child Rights and the Child Welfare Committee will visit the care home to conduct their own inquiry into the matter.
