LUCKNOW/AYODHYA: Led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Speaker Satish Mahana, 330 UP legislators, including cabinet ministers and members of legislative assembly and legislative council cutting across party lines, barring the Samajwadi Party, visited Ayodhya to pay obeisance to Ram Lalla on Sunday. Immersed in devotional spirit, the legislators had ‘darshan’ of Ram Lalla and sat with the CM and the Speaker to sing in praise of Lord Ram. Principal secretary, home, Sanjay Prasad, and DGP Prashant Kumar had ensured tight security arrangements in view of the high-profile visit. Officials ensured that common devotees do not face any inconvenience during the VVIP movement.
BSP chief Mayawati welcomed the Ayodhya consecration ceremony and stated that she had no objection to the construction of the Ram temple. Mayawati had declined the invitation to the ceremony, citing prior party engagements. BSP MLA Uma Shankar Singh expressed that their party respected all religions.
After visiting Ayodhya’s Ram temple, the MLAs will begin their return journey at 3 pm. The visit to the temple is an open invitation from CM Yogi Adityanath and the UP Assembly speaker. Opposition leaders have also agreed to visit the temple.
Arun Yogiraj, the Mysore sculptor, shared the silver hammer used to shape the divine eyes of the Ram Lalla idol. The idol, carved from black stone, captivated social media with its mesmerizing and innocent eyes during the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
