Sit-ins and protests in and around the national capital are posing a significant security challenge for the establishment, as highlighted in the Delhi Police’s 2022 report. The report reveals that law enforcement authorities had to handle 6,277 instances of protests, demonstrations, meetings, and processions. These incidents have been further heightened due to the ongoing farmers’ protest around Delhi-NCR. Former Delhi police commissioner emphasized that crowd management has become increasingly complex, primarily due to the influence of social media platforms.
