Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced on Thursday that he will join Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra when it reaches Agra on Sunday. This announcement comes after the two parties sealed a seat-sharing deal for Uttar Pradesh where Congress will contest 17 out of the 80 parliamentary seats as part of the INDIA bloc in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In Muzaffarnagar, Akhilesh Yadav stated, “Soon, yatra organisers will send us the detailed programme of the route and timing of the yatra in Agra.” The Congress state president Ajay Rai, along with senior leader PL Punia and others, visited the Samajwadi Party headquarters in Lucknow to extend a formal invitation to Akhilesh Yadav for the yatra.
