Fighting in Russia: The Hindu deserves compliments for highlighting the plight of Indians caught in the Russian war. Russian commanders have sacrificed their own soldiers, raising concerns about how Indians and others ‘fighting for’ Russia are treated. The External Affairs Ministry seems to have only found out about several Indians going to Russia after reading the news in the dailies. Meanwhile, the release of Indian soldiers from the Russian Army is reported.

Pankaj Udhas: The passing of iconic Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas has shocked millions of music lovers. He carved a niche for himself by popularising ghazals among the common people. Known for his complete and perfect singing style, Udhas entertained and enthralled audiences for decades. He exemplified the rewards of hard work and commitment to one’s passion. Many will cherish his invaluable music gems, including songs like ‘Chitti aayi hai…’ from the movie ‘Naam’ and ‘Jiye to jiye kaise…’ from ‘Saajan’. Udhas proved that music transcends barriers and unites mankind.
