Congress’s central observers Bhupinder Singh Hooda and D K Shivakumar arrived in Shimla to address the crisis caused by the revolt of six party MLAs. However, the rebel legislators were not in town as they had already left for Panchkula in Haryana. The observers held one-on-one meetings with the MLAs at a hotel near the Vidhan Sabha building. Discussions were held during the meetings and feedback was taken from the MLAs. State Congress in-charge Rajiv Shukla was also present at the meetings.

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, who met the observers, mentioned that some of the rebels are in contact with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the Congress high command.

Sukhu expressed disappointment over the cross-voting by MLAs during the Rajya Sabha elections and stated that they should have respected the party’s ideology.
