Six persons were injured in violence that broke out between two groups in a village of Amroha district after a 15-year-old girl allegedly hanged herself following harassment by a youth in her neighbourhood. To maintain law and order, the police deployed several personnel in the village. The additional superintendent of police stated that the girl’s body was sent for autopsy and a case was registered against the accused for abetting suicide. The accused has been detained and an investigation is underway. The situation in the village is now normal. The girl had informed her relatives about the harassment she was facing. On Monday, the accused molested her, after which she took her own life. The incident led to a confrontation between two groups, resulting in stone-pelting and minor injuries. The police have control over the situation and are collecting more information about the stone-pelting incident.
