Karnataka approves projects worth ₹17,835.9 crore, expected to create 27,000 jobs

The Karnataka government has recently sanctioned six new projects and eight additional investment proposals, with a total worth of ₹17,835.9 crore. These business ventures, once operational, are anticipated to generate approximately 27,000 jobs in various regions of Karnataka. The State High-Level Clearance Committee, which is headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, approved these proposals during its 63rd meeting held on Friday. Among the endorsed projects, Wistron’s investment proposal of ₹2,095 crore is expected to create 21,723 employment opportunities. Other significant ventures include the MRO project by Air India Ltd. amounting to ₹1,750 crore, STT Global Data Centres India Pvt. Ltd.’s investment of ₹1,352.3 crore, Indian Cane Power Ltd.’s contribution of ₹1,078 crore, and ICT Service Management Solutions’ commitment of ₹1,450 crore. Notably, a substantial portion of the total investments, accounting for ₹10,433.72 crore, is dedicated to Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Ballari, and Belagavi districts, in an earnest attempt by the government to expand development beyond Bengaluru and stimulate economic growth throughout the state.
