Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is reportedly in talks with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to set up small nuclear reactors at IOC’s refineries. This move comes as part of IOC’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and increase its green energy portfolio. The small reactors are expected to help in in-house production of hydrogen, which will be used as a fuel for various applications, including transportation. The discussions between IOC and NPCIL are still in the preliminary stages, and further details are yet to be revealed.
