Lt Col Dwarakesh, serving in the Indian Army, proved that spirit can overcome challenges as he clinched gold and silver medals at the 23rd national para swimming championships held in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Despite losing his eyesight in a road accident in 2016, Lt Col Dwarakesh has continued to excel in sports. In addition to his recent achievements in swimming, he had previously conquered the Siachen Glacier and won a shooting national medal. The 35-year-old officer’s dedication and perseverance were evident as he practiced swimming for five hours daily to improve his technique. Lt Col Dwarakesh’s success is an inspiration to Para athletes and a testament to the power of determination and hard work.
