The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are competing for victory in the Payakaraopeta Assembly Constituency (PAC) in Anakapalli district. The YSRCP has nominated Kambala Jogulu, a sitting MLA from Rajam segment, as their candidate, while the TDP-BJP-JSP alliance has chosen Vangalapudi Anitha. Anitha, who previously served as the Telugu Mahila State president, won the Payakaraopeta Assembly constituency in the 2014 elections but lost in 2019. Both parties are strategically positioning their candidates to appeal to the local electorate. The constituency faces various challenges, including groundwater contamination and a lack of proper educational institutions and drinking water facilities.
