A 200-metre stretch on BVK Iyengar Road is set for a makeover as the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) begins whitetopping work. The current road is damaged, requiring the removal of concrete to carry out the necessary repairs. BBMP officials estimate that the work will take approximately a month to complete. Traffic police have issued an advisory, urging motorists to utilize alternative routes until the construction is finished. During the first phase of the work, vehicles traveling from Mysuru Road will be prohibited from moving in a south-north direction. Motorists will need to take a left at Sultanpet Cross and follow Sultanpet Main Road, KV Temple Road, and Balepet Main Road. From there, they can turn right onto Kilari Road before connecting back to BVK Iyengar Road. Vehicles heading towards Mysuru Road from KG Road can use the BVK Iyengar Road east lane, while those coming from Chickpet Main Road will be rerouted through OTC Road during this phase. In the second phase of the work, vehicles coming from KG Road will need to take the west lane of BVK Iyengar Road and proceed to Sultanpet Junction before turning left and joining Mysuru Road. Vehicles coming from Mysuru Road should take a left at Sultanpet Cross, then turn right onto KV Temple Road, proceed via Balepet Main Road, and turn right onto Kilari Road, connecting back to BVK Iyengar Road. Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow the directions given to ensure smooth traffic flow during the whitetopping work on BVK Iyengar Road.
