Madhapur Special Operation Team (SOT) along with Jagadgirigutta police, on Sunday, seized 26 kg of cannabis chocolates and 4 kg of ganja powder from Jayashree Traders, a grocery shop located in Anjaiah Nagar of Jagadgirigutta. Acting on a tip-off, the police found 160 packets (6,400 units) of ganja chocolates weighing 26 kg and 4 kg of ganja powder, valued at ₹2.66 lakh. The shop owner, Manoj Kumar Aggarwal, 54, a native of Kolkata, has been allegedly receiving the contraband from a drug supplier named Mohan in Kolkata. The Jagadgirigutta police have arrested Manoj and are investigating the case. They are also making efforts to trace and apprehend Mohan.
