A day before the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed party workers, emphasizing the significance of this election. In a video message delivered in Hindi and English, he urged the workers to save the Constitution and democracy, accusing the BJP and RSS of attacking India’s democratic structure, institutions, and the legal framework. Mr. Gandhi requested the workers to fight against the RSS ideology and spread the message that the BJP is damaging the idea of India and the Constitution. He listed the Congress manifesto’s key guarantees and expressed gratitude to the workers for their contributions. The Congress released its 45-page manifesto titled ‘Nyay Patra’ on April 5. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh also expressed confidence in the response from grassroots levels and predicted the departure of the Modi government.
