On April 19, Tamil Nadu is going to vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This election is taking place in a single phase and will decide the fate of 39 seats in the state. The key candidates in this election include Kanimozhi from the DMK, who is contesting from Thoothukudi. K Annamalai, the president of the Tamil Nadu BJP, is another important contender, running from Coimbatore. Other key candidates from the AIADMK include J Jayavardhan and R Manohar.

This election in Tamil Nadu also sees the formation of alliances. The DMK is leading an eight-party alliance, which includes the Congress, CPI(M), CPI, Indian Muslim League, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi (KMDK). On the other hand, the AIADMK has formed an alliance with the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam and four other parties. The BJP has teamed up with nine other parties and is contesting 23 seats.

The Tamil Nadu elections of 2024 will witness a three-way contest between the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the AIADMK, and the INDIA bloc, which includes the DMK, Congress, and other parties. This three-way contest adds more excitement and unpredictability to the election.
