Ukraine said it has detained a former serviceman who is accused of assisting Russian forces in carrying out strikes in the Kharkiv region. Since the invasion by Russian forces in February 2022, Ukrainian prosecutors have opened numerous cases relating to alleged collaboration. The Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) stated that the apprehended individual was involved in coordinating attacks in the Kharkiv region and had attempted to flee to Russian-controlled territory near the city of Kupiansk. The suspect, alleged to be an agent of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), could face a prison sentence of up to eight years. Ukrainian forces have also successfully repelled a Russian sabotage group in the Sumy region. Border guards discovered the ambush and engaged with the enemy using artillery and mortar fire. Despite the incursion into the Sumy region by Moscow’s troops, Ukrainian forces managed to push them back.
