Over a hundred residents of Bandra (West) and neighboring areas attended a public meeting held by Varsha Gaikwad, the Congress candidate from Mumbai North-Central. Gaikwad, who arrived more than an hour late, apologized for the delay and explained that she had back-to-back campaign-related meetings and was caught in traffic. She expressed gratitude towards the residents for waiting and showed her appreciation for the support she can expect from them.

During the meeting, residents of different age groups raised several questions on various topics. These included the levy of GST on medical insurance and the need for senior citizen benefits. Former corporators Raja Rehbar Khan and Asif Zakaria were also present at the meeting and encouraged citizens to raise issues related to the Member of Parliament. They assured the residents that they would be available to address civic issues.

Gaikwad emphasized that she did not want to engage in caste and community politics. She believed that the development of a country is only possible when everyone is taken along and walks together. Gaikwad criticized the opposition for the misuse of central agencies and expressed her intention to understand the workings of these agencies once elected to power.

Taking a dig at the government, Gaikwad alleged attempts to privatize the public sector. She pointed out that even in government jobs, individuals are being paid meager salaries as they are on contract. Gaikwad asserted her belief in the Indian Constitution and promised to protect it once elected.

In other news, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad shared his disappointment regarding the absence of key bowlers and the dew factor, which impacted the team’s performance in a recent match. Despite Ruturaj Gaikwad’s score of 62, CSK fell short against PBKS spinners. The article highlighted the contributions of Curran and Rabada from PBKS and expressed hope for the playoffs.
