RailTel Corporation of India, a railway PSU, announced a 3% increase in profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 77.53 crore for the January-March quarter of 2023-24, as compared to Rs 75.24 crore in the same period of the previous year. The Mini Ratna company reported a total income of Rs 852 crore for the last quarter of 2023-24, a significant increase from Rs 707.29 crore in the year-ago period.
Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel, expressed satisfaction with the company’s consistent operational performance and an impressive 25% growth in operating revenue on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis.
Kumar also highlighted the encouraging growth in revenue and PAT of 31% for the financial year 2023-24. With a healthy order book, RailTel expects substantial growth in operating income in the coming quarters.
For the year ended on March 31, 2024, RailTel recorded a total income of Rs 2,622 crore and a total PAT of Rs 246 crore, reflecting a 31% growth in both turnover and profits compared to the previous year.
