Andhra Pradesh Telaga Reservation Porata Samithi president, Pallantla Venkata Ramarao, called on all political parties, including the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP), to ensure backward classes (BC) status for the Telaga community. The community, which was included in the open category (OC) without proper verification of socioeconomic conditions, has been facing difficulties in securing seats in reputed educational institutions and government jobs. Mr. Ramarao recently organized a ‘Maha Padayatra’ to draw attention to this issue.
