Investments through participatory notes in Indian capital markets have reached a six-year high, standing at Rs 1.5 lakh crore at the end of February, according to data from markets regulator Sebi. P-notes are issued by Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) to overseas investors who want to invest in Indian stocks without registering themselves. The surge in investments can be attributed to the strong performance of the domestic economy. The value of P-note investments, including equity, debt, and hybrid securities, increased from Rs 1,43,011 crore in January to Rs 1,49,517 crore in February, the highest level since June 2017.
