Union Home Minister Amit Shah appealed to the public in Telangana to vote for Narendra Modi and help the BJP secure over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha. Shah described the upcoming election as a battle between ‘vote jihad versus vote for development’ and ‘Rahul Gandhi versus PM Narendra Modi’. During his rally in Bhongir, Telangana, Shah emphasized the contrast between what he called ‘family-only development’ and ‘country’s development’. He expressed confidence that the BJP had already crossed 200 seats by the third phase of voting and called upon Telangana voters to give at least 10 seats to the party, enabling them to cross the 400 mark. Shah accused the Congress, BRS, and AIMIM of wanting to run Telangana based on Sharia and the Quran. He referred to them as a ‘triangle of appeasement’ and criticized their opposition to the Ram Navami procession and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Shah promised that if the BJP receives more than 10 seats in Telangana, they would end reservation for Muslims in the state and distribute the benefits among SCs, STs, and OBCs. He countered claims made by the Congress that Modi would remove reservation by highlighting that Modi had not removed reservation during his previous terms. Shah alleged that the Congress government in Telangana had granted 4% reservation to Muslims, taking away from the quotas meant for SCs, STs, and OBCs. He also denounced the Congress for not fulfilling promises such as providing Rs 5,000 guarantee-free loans to students, scooters to college girls, and opening an international school in every tehsil. Shah accused the Congress of wanting to revive triple talaq if they returned to office. He asserted that Rahul Gandhi’s guarantee would not last until sunset and emphasized how Modi had ensured the construction of the Ram Mandir within five years. Shah praised Modi for ending terrorism and Naxalism in the country and ensuring the safety of the nation. He urged the public to vote for growth and support the BJP in the upcoming elections, dismissing the Congress’ claims and emphasizing Modi’s accomplishments.
