Comedian Shyam Rangeela’s nomination to contest in the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi has been rejected, according to sources. Rangeela, known for his political comedy acts, had filed his nomination as an independent candidate but it was rejected by the election authorities. The reasons for the rejection are yet to be disclosed. Rangeela gained popularity for mimicking political leaders and had earlier expressed his desire to contest the elections in Varanasi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, his hopes were dashed with the rejection of his nomination.
