Kerala SIT Arrests Ex-TDB Chief N Vasu in Sabarimala Gold Theft Case!
November 13, 2025
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a thrilling turn in the Sabarimala temple gold mystery, Kerala's SIT caught a big fish! Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president N Vasu was arrested on Tuesday. He's the third accused in the shocking case about the golden doorframe plating of the famous temple.
Vasu was quickly brought before the Pathanamthitta judicial first-class magistrate court. The court sent him to judicial custody for 14 days. Now, he’s locked up at Kottarakkara sub-jail.
Why the big trouble? Investigators revealed that this arrest connects to 2019, when Vasu was the devaswom commissioner. The gold plating was done then, sponsored by none other than Unnikrishnan Potti, the prime accused in this glittering scandal.
Vasu is no stranger to the TDB — he served twice as its commissioner before becoming president. Reports say he has close ties to the CPM leadership.
Sweeping findings from the SIT show Vasu didn’t act even though he was told a chunk of the gold used stayed with the "sponsor". This silence and inaction have landed him in deep trouble.
The drama around Sabarimala’s missing gold keeps unfolding, and with Vasu in custody, more chapters are expected soon!
