Cyclone Ditwah Brings Heavy Rain to South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Alerts Issued

South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are set to see widespread heavy rains on November 29 and 30 due to Cyclone Ditwah. Extremely heavy rainfall may hit some districts in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 30.
The cyclone will weaken into a deep depression by the morning of December 1 and further into a depression by evening, the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC), Visakhapatnam said.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an 'orange alert' for heavy to very heavy rains in Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati, and Rayalaseema on November 29. 'Yellow alerts' cover parts of Prakasam, YSR Kadapa, and Annamayya districts.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at several places in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 29 and in most places on November 30. North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will see rain at one or two locations on these dates.
A 'red alert' was issued for November 30, warning of extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati, and Annamayya districts. 'Orange alerts' cover heavy rain in Prakasam, YSR Kadapa, and Rayalaseema.
'Yellow alerts' for November 30 affect Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, Nandyal, Palnadu, Bapatla, Guntur, Krishna, and NTR districts.
On December 1, 'yellow alerts' are in place for YSR Kadapa, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Prakasam, Bapatla, Guntur, Krishna, Palnadu, and Tirupati districts.
The sea along South Andhra Pradesh will remain rough, and fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea until December 1.
Distant Warning (DW) – II is hoisted at Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Krishnapatnam, and Nizampatnam Ports.
