Russian Drone Strikes Kyiv Residential Areas, Killing One and Injuring Seven
November 29, 2025
Early Saturday morning, Kyiv faced a deadly Russian drone and missile strike that hit residential areas across several city districts. The attack left one person dead and seven others injured, including a 13-year-old child. Kyiv's mayor, Vitaly Klitschko, said the wounded included four people taken to hospital.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, confirmed the strike hit "multiple targets on the capital's outskirts." He added on Telegram, "Enemy drones are over the city, with air defence responding." Rescuers found the body of a man in the Sviatoshynskyi district on Kyiv's west side.
Two women were injured in Brovary, east of Kyiv, where missiles and drones targeted residential areas, according to the regional governor. The strike caused a fire on the lower floors of a high-rise apartment west of the city center, while another blaze was controlled in a central district.
Earlier this week, a similar Russian attack killed seven in Kyiv. The latest strike comes as Ukrainian negotiators plan talks with US officials over a revised US peace plan. President Vladimir Putin said Russia would only stop its offensive if Ukraine’s troops withdraw from territorities claimed by Moscow.
Putin also confirmed a US delegation, including special envoy Steve Witkoff, will visit Moscow next week to discuss the peace plan. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the talks aim "to translate the points we secured in Geneva into a form that puts us on the path to peace and security guarantees."
