A private worker died after a speeding car hit him on Kukatpally–Miyapur road early Saturday morning. The victim, 44-year-old Santosh Kumar Ishwar, was a tanker driver contracted by Metro Rail for plant maintenance. The accident occurred around 5 a.m near pillar number 751. Police inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy said, "Santosh was preparing the pipe to water the plants when the accused drove his car in a rash and negligent manner and rammed into him from behind. The impact was severe and he died on the spot." The driver, 29-year-old Sai Kiran, was found drunk with a Blood Alcohol Level of 114. Police responded to the emergency call, took the victim's body for postmortem, and arrested the accused. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
