November 29, 2025
Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, along with Prathipadu MLA B. Ramanjaneyulu, inaugurated several development projects in Vatticherukuru mandal on November 29. The minister praised the village's name and the strong agricultural spirit of its people. He congratulated the farmers and villagers warmly.
Dr. Pemmasani expressed happiness over a community-built irrigation tank, calling it a model for other villages. He sharply criticised the previous YSRCP government for not using ₹14,000 crore allocated under the Jal Jeevan Mission from 2019 to 2024, causing the funds to be returned unused. He said the current government revived the scheme to ensure Andhra Pradesh benefits.
Despite having limited revenue, the minister noted Andhra Pradesh spends ₹35,000 crore yearly on pensions and over ₹65,000 crore on welfare programs like Thalliki Vandanam, free bus travel, and Annadata Sukhibhava. He stressed the need for big industries and investments to increase state income. He assured commitment to welfare and development under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The minister also promised the long-awaited Guntur Channel project, which will aid over 11 mandals, will start soon. MLA B. Ramanjaneyulu stated that the mandal is steadily getting vital infrastructure, including cement roads, drains, and culverts. The leaders also distributed CMRF cheques to eligible people.
