The Andhra Pradesh government is working hard to open more overseas job chances for young people. On November 29, a key meeting with 17 national recruitment agencies discussed ways to strengthen ties with international workforce providers. During this event, tripartite Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to promote collaboration.
Kona Sasidhar, Secretary of Skill Development and Training, highlighted the State’s skill programs, including German language courses in nursing colleges. He stressed the role of the Naipunyam portal that connects skilled youth with verified global employers. He shared, “APSSDC trained 1.42 lakh youth last year in future-ready skills, helping candidates even from remote villages get international jobs.”
Burugupalli Sesha Rao, APSSDC Chairperson, added that overseas migration is made safe and legal through the Overseas Manpower Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (OMCAP). Ravi Kumar Vemuru, President of APNRT Society, pointed out that over 40 lakh Telugu people live in 140+ countries, sending back ₹30,000 crore annually in remittances.
G. Ganesh Kumar, APSSDC MD and CEO, said vocational training matches industry needs. Welder placements reached 100% success because of focused training.
An interactive session covered global hiring trends, skill gaps, language skills, visa rules, and post-migration support. APSSDC Executive Director D. Manohar noted interest from agencies like Seagull and Transcend HR Consulting to start offices in the State.
Logistics sector reps agreed to consider a Left-Hand Drive training track for migrants going to Europe, responding to a government request.
Three agencies—Dynamic Staffing Services, Nihon, and Border Plus—signed MoUs with APSSDC and OMCAP Ltd.
