Parvatipuram-Manyam District Collector N. Prabhakar Reddy announced a 100-day action plan starting December 6 to enhance the academic performance of Class 10 students. "The district had been in first place in Class 10 exam results consistently for the past few years and it would be hopefully retained with concerted efforts of all the departments concerned," he said. A total of 10,731 students will appear for the Class 10 exams scheduled between March 16 and April 1. The district administration has appointed special officers for 185 schools to encourage students to achieve top marks in every subject. The government is focusing on strong academic foundations through the Fundamental Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme. It aims to help students of classes 3, 4, and 5 learn proper reading and writing. "Community Resource Persons will conduct special tests for the children under the FLN. It will enable the teachers to identify drawbacks," said N. Prabhakar Reddy. Additionally, mega teachers and parents meetings will be held in all schools on December 5 to urge parents to keep children focused on their studies.
