B. Manikandan, the third accused in the high-profile actor rape case, tried to commit suicide on Friday night. After being taken into custody by Palarivattom police for causing public nuisance while drunk, he was released late at night. Police said he bought a razor blade from a nearby shop and cut his wrist. Passersby and police quickly intervened and rushed him to the hospital. He was discharged after first aid since the injury was minor. This happened just days before the Ernakulam District Sessions Court will deliver its verdict on December 8. The case concerns the abduction and rape of an actor in a moving car on February 17, 2017. Actor Dileep faces charges of conspiracy. The first accused is N.S. Sunil, also known as Pulsar Suni. Other accused include Martin Antony, B. Manikandan, V.P. Vijeesh, H.
