South City Corporation Orders Water Cleaning at Falcon City After Gastroenteritis Cases
November 29, 2025
The South City Corporation has issued a strict notice to the Prestige Falcon City apartment complex management to clean and disinfect all water sources, storage sumps, and tanks. The move follows rising gastroenteritis cases reported by residents since October 6. Health officials inspected the complex on November 12 after reports of illness. The corporation stated, "Between October 6 and November 11, the Apollo Clinic within the complex had been treating three to four gastroenteritis cases daily." A dedicated team of 20 health staff conducted medical outreach and education for residents over ten days. About 177 residents sought treatment at local hospitals. Water samples from tanks, sumps, and flats were collected and sent for testing to check for contamination. Tragically, an eight-year-old boy died on November 27 after suffering prolonged diarrhea, but the corporation clarified the cause was Nephrotic Syndrome. Furthermore, officials have banned all gatherings in the complex until further notice to prevent disease spread. The corporation emphasized maintaining water quality according to World Health Organisation (WHO) standards to protect residents' health.
