AP Labour Minister Hails Employment Officers in Job-Ready Graduate Drive Amid Corporate Investments

Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister Vasamsetti Subhash on Saturday praised the vital role of employment officers in educational institutions. He said they help make lakhs of graduates job-ready, shaping the State’s future. The Minister spoke at Placements 2025, a training programme for placement officers from engineering and degree colleges. The programme was organised by the Andhra Pradesh Training and Employment Officers Federation and P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science.
Minister Subhash highlighted that top companies like Google, Reliance, TCS, Cognizant, and Accenture are investing heavily in Andhra Pradesh. He said, "The role of placement officers becomes vital in achieving the goal of creating five lakh job opportunities," a promise made by the TDP-led alliance government.
Potluri Bhaskara Rao, president of the Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce, said employment officers should act as a bridge to close the gap between students’ skills and industry requirements.
A poster was unveiled for a business expo organised by the Chamber, scheduled at SS Convention Centre, Vijayawada from December 12 to 14.
Experts guiding the officers included Anne Indrajit, president of the IT Association of Andhra Pradesh; Narra Suresh, Infosys Visakhapatnam Centre Head; and Borra Suresh Babu, president of HCL Tech Vijayawada Artificial Intelligence Club. They shared strategies to help students succeed in campus placements.
The event saw participation from P.B. Siddhartha College Dean Rajesh Jampala, federation president N.V. Surendra Babu, secretary Jagadish, joint secretaries Kavuri Sridhar and Himabindu, member Shiva Nageswara Rao, and employment officers from 80 colleges.
