US President Donald Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship for children born to parents living in the US illegally or temporarily has been blocked nationwide by a US judge through a class-action lawsuit. The move aimed to limit the automatic granting of citizenship to anyone born in the US, a right protected by the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. The lawsuit challenging this order was filed in 2018, and after three years, the judge ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
