The National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi (NIT-T) has announced a notable 87% placement rate for the year, demonstrating its resilience in the face of economic uncertainties. Director G. Aghila highlighted the successful placement of 1,322 students across various sectors and the active participation of 286 organizations in the campus recruitment drive. The institute also introduced the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) with 50 students enrolled in the inaugural four-year course. The BSc. B.Ed program, focusing on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, aims to train teachers for Classes XI and XII across different school boards. NIT-T's commitment to enhancing school education, particularly in STEM fields, has garnered recognition, with the institute being selected for the second phase of a prestigious project for teacher training. Aligning with the National Education Policy 2020, NIT-T has revamped its academic structure to offer greater flexibility to students, enabling multiple entry and exit points at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Students have completed numerous NPTEL courses, resulting in the transfer of credits through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), benefiting over 9,800 individuals. In response to recent security incidents on campus, stringent measures have been implemented to monitor movements effectively and ensure the safety of all individuals within the NIT-T premises. Additional security personnel have been deployed, and innovative services like battery vehicles have been introduced to facilitate campus mobility. Prioritizing mental health, the institute offers access to online counseling services through YourDOST, benefiting a significant number of students and faculty. NIT-T's global outreach has been reinforced through collaborative programs with international institutions, welcoming foreign students from diverse countries through cultural exchange and study programs. The institute's partnership with the Illinois Institute of Technology underscores its commitment to fostering global learning experiences for students. With a holistic approach to academic success and student well-being, NIT-T continues to set new benchmarks in higher education and international collaboration.
