On July 27, 2025, GITAM Deemed to be University held its 16th Graduation Ceremony at its Visakhapatnam campus, where a total of 3,513 students received their degrees. This included 2,646 undergraduate degrees, 723 postgraduate degrees, and 144 Ph.D. scholars being honored. In recognition of their exceptional scholarly work, 48 students were presented with gold medals. The ceremony featured notable speeches from industry leaders and academic authorities. Naveed Narayan, the Centre Head and Vice-President of Bosch Global Software Technologies, addressed the graduates, emphasizing the significant role the youth play in initiating new business ventures, especially through advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He stressed that various factors, such as demographics, geopolitics, and digital commerce, are all integral to shaping the future of India and urged the graduates to seize these opportunities. M. Sribharat, the GITAM President and Visakhapatnam MP, complemented these insights by encouraging graduates to transition their focus from traditional job security to becoming solution providers and job creators. This aligns well with the growing trend of entrepreneurship among young professionals, highlighting a shift in mindset that could pave the way for innovation and economic growth. In addition to graduating students, Prof. Y. Gouthama Rao, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of GITAM, shared that the university has recognized the importance of fostering entrepreneurial spirit by supporting 120 student startups through its Venture Development Centre. The proactive approach from the university has led to successful placements, with an impressive 90% of students securing jobs thanks to the involvement of around 530 companies visiting the campus. Furthermore, G.P. Rajasekhar, the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, also addressed attendees, stating that improved infrastructure within educational institutions would significantly benefit student development. This reflects a broader acknowledgment among educators about the importance of resources in enhancing the learning environment for students. The ceremony concluded with a sense of pride among faculty and students alike as they looked forward to the contributions these graduates would make in their respective fields. The emphasis on innovation, AI, and entrepreneurship echoes through the hearts of today's youth, as they prepare to embark on their professional journeys inspired and equipped for the challenges ahead.
