A bizarre and eye-catching scene unfolded in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, leaving tourists stunned and social media buzzing! Tour guides came up with a wild idea to attract visitors by sending a donkey down a zipline that stretched over a cliff. Yes, you read that right—a donkey flying on a zipline! But don’t worry, the poor animal landed safely without any injury. Videos of this hilarious yet strange stunt quickly spread across social media platforms, including X, grabbing lots of attention. The guides likely hoped this unusual act would boost tourism. However, the stunt sparked outrage among viewers who questioned the treatment of the donkey. Police looked into the matter but said, “charges couldn't be pressed against the guides as the donkey was not injured and there was no proof to confirm that the animal was traumatized.” They couldn’t find evidence that the animal suffered. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time a donkey has been used in a wild stunt in Russia. Back in 2010, an even crazier scene took place in southern Russia. Entrepreneurs sent a donkey parasailing to lure visitors to a private beach near the Sea of Azov. Witnesses said the donkey was screaming in fear as it soared above the water. According to regional police spokeswoman Larisa Tuchkova, “The donkey screamed, and children cried.” Yet no one immediately called the police. Instead, people clicked photos and called newspapers. The Taman newspaper reported, “It was put up so high into the sky that the children on the beach cried and asked their parents: 'Why did they tie a doggy to a parachute?'” Sadly, the animal had a rough landing—it was dragged along the water before being pulled out half-alive onto the shore. After that 2010 stunt at the coastal village of Golubitskaya, police began an investigation. This earlier case drew far more concern than the recent zipline event. These wild animal adventures certainly stir strong feelings. While these stunts aim to grab attention and boost tourism, they also raise questions about animal safety and ethics. Will such crazy ideas fly in the future, or will the animals finally catch a break? For now, the donkey is safe and sound - but the debates and videos continue to zipline through the internet!
