India’s fiery pacer Mohammed Siraj has now reached a career-best 15th spot in the latest ICC Test rankings! How? Thanks to his match-winning magic in the fifth Test at The Oval against England. Siraj took an incredible nine wickets across the match, including a five-wicket haul, helping India snatch victory by just 6 runs in a thrilling finish. This epic win evened the series at 2-2. Siraj’s performance was electrifying! England needed just 35 runs with four wickets in hand on the last day, but Siraj went all out. The star bowler snagged three crucial wickets, including the last man Gus Atkinson, to seal India’s dramatic win. His efforts earned him the well-deserved 'Player of the Match' title. Before this effort, Siraj's best ICC ranking was 16th, achieved in January last year. And now, he has jumped a solid 12 places! Meanwhile, India’s pace ace Jasprit Bumrah stays strong at the top of the bowler charts with 889 points. He wisely played only three Tests to take care of his workload. Another young Indian pacer, Prasidh Krishna, also caught attention by reaching a career-best 59th place. Alongside Siraj, Krishna became only the second Indian duo to take four or more wickets each in both innings of a Test match, matching a feat last done by spin legends Bishan Bedi and Erapalli Prasanna way back in 1969 against Australia. On the batting front, India’s opener Yashasvi Jaiswal shone bright again with his second century of the series at The Oval. This effort pushed him back into the top-5 in the Test batting rankings for the first time, rising 3 spots to 792 points. The only other Indian batsman in the top-10 is Rishabh Pant, who slipped one spot to eighth due to missing the last match with a foot injury. England’s star batsman Joe Root also strengthened his grip on the No. 1 spot with his third century in three matches, while Harry Brook’s explosive 111 off 98 balls helped him climb back to second place. Fast bowlers Atkinson and Josh Tongue from England also had great games, each taking eight wickets in the match. Atkinson made it to the top 10 bowlers for the first time, and Tongue soared 14 places to 46th. With such thrilling performances and intense battles, this series at The Oval will be remembered as a cricket rollercoaster filled with drama, heroics, and jaw-dropping feats!
